Got commissioned to design a bird for Milo, or rather, turn him into a bird. Seems to happen a lot around here...
It's a mixture of a Harris Hawk and a Cooper's Hawk. Really cool looking bird!

Nice work, birds are cool. I have a gorgeous book "Bird of Prey" on the shelf right here. The wife should never have pointed it out.
Is that enough wing? My own research into the matter has shown that the average bird has a wingspan three times their height. (Except albatrosses that have four times their height.)

There is some method to my wing design. I did use an airflow applet I found to work out the wingspan, chord, and shape. The birds need to generate a decent amount of airspeed and maintain a light body, but they can technically fly. It's all theoretical and very fictional, so I only take the design but so seriously. It's the best balance I could find between practical and hopefully still be functional.
