Clive ran into the house, stomping thick mud off of his work boots onto the wooden floor. Lightning flashed in the doorway behind him as the thunder rumbled in the distance. "Bubba! Hey, Bubba! Where you at, boy?“
Clive staggered into the living room, rainwater dripping off of his overalls as he laughed and clapped his hands. Bubba was sitting on the couch in front of the TV, like always.
"You should have seen it.” Clive laughed, “Bobby-Jo, she was out in the yard, and well, you know how she got her one of them new-fangled outdoor tv antennas? Well, we got to drinking’ an… Bubba, hey! You listenin’ ta me, boy?”
Bubba just stared at the TV, not even looking up at his brother. A roach crawled across the toe of his boot, but he didn’t seem to notice.
Clive just shook his head, “But, we got to drinkin’ and she walked over to the antenna an’ started doin’ one o’ them pole dances for me! Ya know, she gets guys tuckin’ hunnerd dollar bills on her for doin’ that on the weekends, and she did it for me for free!” He grinned a moment, before wiping the drool from his chin, “Anyhow, anyhow it got ta rainin’, so it was like a pole dance mixed with a wet t-shirt contest, Bubba! I told ya you shoulda come!”
He laughed and punched his brother in the arm and he clattered to the floor, his jawbone snapping off and sliding across the wood.
“Aw, gawddamnit Bubba! How many times am I gonna have ta put this damn thing back on! I mean I promised momma I’d take care of ya, but this shit’s gettin’ old…” He sighed and picked up the skeleton and set it back on the couch, straightening his boots before going into the kitchen to rummage in the drawer for the super glue. "Still, Bubba… You should have seen it.“
