I've been working for the Census, and going to people's houses and giving them the packets... and several of them have either gotten one already or been like "there's a mail box right over there, why are you here?" I'm like... I have no idea. Yay tax dollars! :D

I hope so too, for your sake. I've been having a hell of a job lately. x.x; I have to go up to Santa Fe (seven hours away from me) tomorrow and stay in a hotel for like a week, and drive around in the mountains looking for the people who don't live there. My Crew Leader told me I have to bring stuff for my car so that if I get stuck I won't starve to death if nobody finds me for a few days. x.x;;;

Anyway, god I want a clerk job. The pay is great (ESPECIALLY the mileage to be honest) but it kills me. :<

You mean they *post* the US Census forms out? The US Postal service must be groaning under the weight of all that extra mail...

I was involved with the last NZ Census in 2006 (on the IT side), and for getting the forms out Statistics NZ hired a veritable army of "enumerators" who went round *every* house, apartment block, hotel, motel, resort and cruise ship in the country handing out the forms... then went round again collecting them afterwards!

(We had an online Census form for the first time that Census, but the uptake wasn't as great as we thought. The early online results saw one person put in their religion as "Sith Lord", so we knew we could only get /one/ more of those )

Oh, they send census takers out too, if they don't get a form back from an address. I sent mine back already (gave my race as "yetisysni", just to give 'em a headache).
