I really like how the ribbons and tassels add to the sense of movement in this piece. I think they make her pose stand out a little bit better, too. Speaking of which, you did a fantastic job with your first snow leopard! Her spots look really well done, especially along her tail, and I like how lithe and muscular she looks, in that understated way that so many big cats have. The little slits on her fingertips where her claws are is a really neat touch, too.
not bad for starters. :) could have used a shorter muzzle, but that would be all.
she's a very wild dancer, methinks, from all the accessoires flying about. it also makes for a nicley dynamic scene, also with the ruffy hair. extra points for the simple, effective background. :)

others than doing it 'by brute force' sotosay... not really. myself, I just stop halfway from a normal leopard's.
I used to have many issues with anatomy and proportions, while it looked right at first I did it wrong. annoyed by the repeated critics I forced myself to draw how it should be right despite it looking wrong to me. dunno if it helped, though. :)
*gently pokes your muzzle with a soft paw* those facial assets are what is usually poked into people's direction, so it's natural that I take account of them, too, along with the rest of the face. peg me a face-person, but to me faces are important in any critter.

Faces are important to me too, as is anatomy and color. Rather than just copying what other artists have already done with any particular character, I generally try to base those aspects off of whatever animal the character is supposed to be, and work in my own style. Having said that, I think this is just the way I'm going to draw feline muzzles, despite someone else thinking they look wrong.
As you said yourself:
"annoyed by the repeated critics I forced myself to draw how it should be right despite it looking wrong to me." I wouldn't want to go down that path myself. ;)
