The NHS would actually work very good if the neocon tories wouldn´t actively try to kill it.

Every healthcare system could work it sensible politicians would take good care of it. The NHS would in no way work today if it was kept as it was originally intended. The rising cost in medicine in general would have made that impossible. But there is also no denying that it was made defunct by the efforts trying to safe it. Whether they were really made to safe it or to abolish it is another question.
The point is: Would a completely state run healthcare system work, when you know that politicians would mess it up sooner or later? Would a completely private healthcare system work, when you know that companies would sooner or later abuse it for their profits? Those are the important questions.
