Long ago, during the final war on my planet, there was once a great Thrumliri military captain named Jolbur. During the conquest of Maateru, after his troops slaughtered a native village on their general's orders, he deserted the military. With his bare paws, he fashioned a crown of sharp thorns, which he wore as an act of penance. He wandered the continent, traveling from village to village, protecting them from invaders from both Thrumlir and Fo'sha, and bringing gifts from his travels. He gained the last name "Thonnem," a word that means "scarlet" in the dialect of Thrumlir, for the deep red captain's cloak he wore.
Eventually, he was captured by the military he deserted. He was executed by beheading, without trial, shortly before the end of the war. Every year since, a week long annual festival is held in his honor. He's a distant ancestor of mine.

and I spent a day designing veyluu, and this is one of the results. I had so much fun, and can't wait 'til we do this again!
