This is Gummy, the first of a species that hit me in the middle of the night like a sack of bricks. They're called Jellybellies.
Jellybellies are draconic-like creatures. They have no eyes and rely entirely on their senses of smell and hearing to get around. Their mouths split open in a way that allows them to swallow anything whole, much like a snake. From there, it gets digested in their translucent belly, which is filled with acid. This acid can also be used as a defense mechanism, in which the Jellybelly spits it up at a threat.
They spend most of their days sleeping and are omnivorous. It's better for them to eat meat, but they typically enjoy fruit more due to sweetness.
