"... laughin' back an' forth at what the other 'n has to say..."
I've loved the Asterix comics ever since I was a kid - there's almost no better comic for lovable characters, hilarious dialogue and sight gags, and surprisingly sharp satire.
A while back I had this idea of drawing Asterix as a fox, and Obelix as a bear, which brought up a very obvious parallel that suited these characters just as well as Disney's bear and fox.
Anyway, with the passing of Asterix's talented artist Albert Uderzo, I felt I had to come up with some kind of tribute. It's the end of an era, at least for me, and I hope there are other Asterix fans on this site, because I can never believe he's not better known in the States.
Au revoir, Monsieur Uderzo. Thank you for all the laughs and all the adventures.
