Here's my first pass for my school's Chimera mascot design contest, still gotta color it and work out some kinks, please help me improve this boy with your observant constructive critiques if you have any! Thank you >w<
Oh and he's not named yet too, you guys can also help me come up with one, preferably starting with C or Chi =D

the only real critique i have, which i just my personal pref, is that the main face's expression is too plain. i cant tell if its growling, smiling, or just has its mouth open. the overall design is super solid, but that was the only thing sticking out to me.
as for name hmmm. maybe "Chiru" (short for chiranjivi - means 'long-lived' or 'infinite' in sanskrit)

good point but i think it is mostly because of the eyes because having an open mouth where sharp teeth are showing shows the feeling that it's going to bite your ass but it's eyes could have worked with that flow buy showing some anger as well but he said he still wanted it to look kind of cute and with in mind then i think it may work better this way.
this is my last comment i promise but you could name it Chimera or Mera for short because a Chimera is a Greek mythology monster that had a lion's head, a Ram head sticking from it's back and a snake for a tail and you drawing has most of its main characteristics. look it up on wiki and you'll see what i mean
This is really well done inked and I do love your line weight. But the the thing I'd say when I first see this character is: He could be more ferocious. With ram horns and a snake tail along with those big sharp claws and teeth, I feel like he would more be in a ferocious position like a gettingreadytopouncesomething position. The right hand in this looks plain as it just is bended when I feel like it would do something similar as the left hand. (example: partial open palm with those claws stuck out) Right here the character looks as if he is in mid-air of something but I don't feel it working with the upper body. The pose is good but I don't think it represents this character enough.
Those are just my stuffies that comes to my mind. The school logos/designs around my area will sport a certain emotion or spirit or ferociousness, going for something symbolic and powerful.

I'm still working on the line weight, might fix things up a little bit. As for the ferociousness, I see you do make a point about it being a mean monster with sharp claw and teeth. I think I was mainly aiming to create a cuter character even with all the lethal traits, since our school doesn't really have a sports team or anything (art college 8D), I don't feel the need to make him look SUPERBADASSIMMABITEYOURHEADOFF XD Although I do feel the pose could use a little more tweaking, but I think I"m gonna let this one stay as it is, I'm planning to have this little guy do a representative drawing of each of the major we have in our school (photography, film, painting/drawing, sculpture...etc) and I'll try to make the poses more dynamic/narrative in those drawings! c:
