Well I've debuted my own Caste and Phenotype defined alien civilization on Deviantart, but figured I might try to get a little bit of a footprint on here as well starting with one of my older works!
Divided into 3 distinct classes by their biology: "Worker", "Warrior" and "Monarch", all phenotypes work in concert in Axoltzyn society. Workers outnumber Warriors 100-1 and perform most of the essential day-to-day functions in a galactic civilization -they are the base on which everything in their culture is built. Warriors are 30-40 times the height of your average Worker and traditionally have acted as the military arm of Axoltzyn city-states, similar to the role of a soldier ant in a terrestrial ant colony. Huge, heavily armoured, yet quite mobile, their brutal effectiveness has allowed their species to carve out their niche on the galactic stage.
Finally, Monarchs -the colossal heads of most States- sit atop the hierarchy. Instead of being hatched from the parthenogenic processes of the Workers, as the other castes are, they instead are formed as part of some strange ritual on their homeworld, rising from the deep, azure oceans to lord over their minuscule sisters.
Pictured here is "Necatli", a freshly emerged Monarch effortlessly plucking a deadly sea serpent from the waves, ending it's reign of terror over a coastal city.
