Old commission for Vira815 of their character!! This was super fast to draw but I actually really liked how it came out. Probably one of my favorite commission requests to date haha.

Oh yeah it happens ALL THE TIME that people find my art on Google Images and use it for their own OC or profile pics. Usually I post on DeviantArt, that site mostly has younger folks and they don't really know as much about how to be respectful about other people's characters and art, etc </3 (I don't think it's most people's fault there, they are young so they are still learning).
I generally copy paste the description from DevArt to here. Is it weird? I can stop putting those "Do not use this image please" parts on my image descriptions if people on FA find it strange and abrasive. ^^;; Please let me know haha, I don't know too much about the 'culture' on FA so I don't want to step on others' toes.

In my opinion, it's important that artists sign there work with a signature or a watermark. (For obvious reasons)
Just like you do. But of course it's everyones choice to do so.
About your "weird" part. Haha...
No, not at all. People definitely should know that an artwork belongs to someone specific. And they do have to respect this matter. Well like ya said, people don't know how to be respectful, cause they enjoy the internets anonymity and immunity.
True, folks are still learning... always. But to be honest, I doubt that people will ever change there behavior, if they are getting away with it all the time.
I gues as long as you, or your commissionors don't have a disadvantage, it might not be a big deal afterall? In another way, it sort of is an advertisment, is it not? (Sorry if the questioning is rude.) Ohh my, now I'm starting to sound weird. ~~~

Thanks for the response :D Yeah watermarking is definitely important. Some nasty folks on Amazon started removing/erasing my watermarks and selling my art online, and it's annoying to file takedown requests, so I think I have to eventually unfortunately start moving my watermark to on top of the art where it's hard to erase.
I think the main issue is that it's not fair for my commissioners for someone to just grab the art and use it for their own purposes. My commissioners spent their hard earned money on my art and I feel they should have it be unique to them (or anyone they choose to share it with).
I usually do let my Wings of Fire fanart be reposted though, and for people to use it for their own purposes as long as they aren't profiting off it :D And in that way yeah it's like free advertising! I don't mind. But not everyone appreciates reposting.

Right.
Your commissioners spent their money to get an amazing, unique piece of art. I haven't thought of this until now.
Also it sounds that protecting your artwork takes much more time, then the drawing itself. It's really sad that so many people only want to make profit out of something good that doesn't belong to them.
And if I'm honest, I did that aswell to use a picture as a profile pic, that I found on Google. Glad I learned to respect someones art sooner then later.
However, it's nice to know a bit more about the situation, from the aspect of an actual artist. Thanks, now I'm having a clearer picture of it.
