‘The hell is this that you are wearing?’

“So, on another visit to Coconut Island, following a battle I was walking through the jungle with my friend Adrian when we came upon a familiar face in not so familiar clothes,…

This is Mikey, a friend of ours,… a young warrior from a far away place who claims he is hunting and battling dark creatures known as ‘Heartless’,… I’ve never seen one of them before, but with all the strange things I’ve seen on my island I don’t doubt they are real. Still, neither of us had ever seen him dressed like this before,… when we questioned him,… and carefully prodded,… he told us about how he had been ambushed by a very large snake in the depths of the jungle, and was forced to slay the beast to survive,… but not before its stomach acids had eaten away at his normal clothes,… so he made new clothes out of its skin.

I’ve never liked the idea of wearing animal skins,… and clearly Adrian shares my uncertainty,… but in this case it is better than going without, and this snakeskin robe of his certainly does blend well with the jungle,… the scales seem fairly hard too, so it could be protective, maybe. Still, if he is happy with it, then that’s what really matters.”

Fresh from the Tuesday Chibi Stream of  Shonuff44 comes a collab between myself,  rpx and  rambobrosreloadit intended to give his character more of a jungly look.

I think this is a fun little picture, I always love seeing my Ember in chibi style, but this would be the first time seeing Adrian and Mikey in this style was well, and I think it suits them. The snakeskin robe came out looking very nice, and I think it suits Mikey well, no pun intended. The expressions are what I truly love about this picture though, Adrian’s look of uncertainty, and Ember’s ‘what the heck’ look, as she carefully examines the garment using the butt of her spear. Shonuff even made the comment about her expression which I just had to include as the opening line of this description. But this picture goes to show that not all jungle outfits need to be leafy in order to be green.
