That much I understand but uhhh.... that was kind of the point of him having small pupils in the first place He looks scary and the world judges him on that but has a good heart and his appearance plays into the themes of Beastars as a whole. No distespect though, I love seeing him your style, just a conflict of design I feel.
I do like the style of the characters in Beastars but I think your own style definitely suits the characters and for Legosi in particular I think is an improvement. I think it's mostly his eyes with the enlarging of his pupils giving him a more appealing gaze. Juno and Haru are particularly adorable, while your style for Melon is just as sinister without being quite so demonic which I think suits him better. Ibuki and Louis as well I think are looking particularly good with your style.
