I have been meaning to do this since I got permission to color it. This was originally a traditional sketch, done by an artist friend of mine that I've known, off and on for... maybe a good 10 years... He is an extremely talented artist and teacher, who has also done many works for DC comics.
The last time I saw him back in June 2009, he gave me permission to color this sketch request ^^ All I had was a crappy cameraphone pic left of this... given that, I am extremely pleased with the results... tickled even ^^ So the linework and digital coloring was all done by me... and I think I could have gotten just a little more carried away with this, but I just couldn't think for sure what else I wanted to do, so I shall share this for now XD
Also did my best to make the transparent version my new icon as well ^^ But darn it all if I can't figure out how to get rid of those pesky few white pixels... >.<

Well, neither of us have the original sketch up anywhere... I have a very blah-ze' cameraphone pic of it and thought of showing a before and after, but I didn't want to have to put a huge watermark over that much space since the original design isn't my work, I just thought I'd share the after ^^
