I managed to edit this character to make her look somewhere closer to Twilight's general height. We can just say the first version is how she would look after her newly acquired magic level caused her to grow taller.
For funsies I also threw in an image of what Jazz might look like as a foal, and judging by her expression she'd make a very sassy baby pone.
The writer never described Jazz to have fetlock tufts and differently colored hooves, but whenever I draw something MLP related I tend to listen to music from the show or from other songs that mention horses, such as "The Last Unicorn" and the occasional "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron".
Plus small details like that help a character look more unique without straying into the dreaded "special snowflake" category.
I can't recall seeing an established female character with hooves like that in the show.
Inspired by a MLP + Harry Potter fanfic called "Jasmine and the Elements of Harmony" by Tbtreet95 on Wattpad, which is currently on hiatus.
Needed something creative to do in order to remain positive with all of these growing pandemic concerns. Might try to go back to writing now that this bit of fanart is finished.
