A remix of Chemical Plant Zone from Sonic 2. Dunno how to feel about this one, there are certainly parts I like but then again I worry that some parts may be a tad ear-grating. Not my best of works and was rather quickly thrown together but meh.
Sonic is (C) Sega, as if you really needed to be told that <_<;

As with all my recent pieces I use Linux MultiMedia Studio (LMMS) and for some songs touch up afterwards with Audacity. The actual process of making each remix (or my rare few original pieces) varies greatly from piece to piece but for the remixes I tend to at least partially rely on existing midis. As I'm no musician (haven't played an instrument in years), remaking something based on the sheet music tends to be pretty difficult, let alone making it based solely on ear, hence my rather shameful dependence on looking at simple midis of the normal versions of the song. I then take that apart, tweak stuff, add my own percussion or extra bits, tweak this, tweak that...maybe even build that bit from scratch...
*shrugs* I just do it. My much earlier original music were all done from scratch in OpenModplugTracker.

I used to be an arrogant little [string of swearing] but the story of that and my...partial change is one for another time.
I try to be modest in all I do and try to avoid arrogance or sneering down on others. And besides, it's not modesty, it's just me saying the truth. My stuff isn't bad and my art for example has definitely improved in leaps and bounds, but it's not at a high enough level to brag or be anything but modest about.
...okay, not too sure if that made sense. Anyway, I tend to use (almost) only free/open software, so any of the tools I use for art and music can be freely obtained and used by anyone. (Off the top of my head all 3 music programs I have used in remixes and compositions have Windows versions too)

Cool. Well, all I can say is that I'm looking forward to hearing more from you. I certainly can't make music. (I can sing...horribly...but that's about it.)
But at least you're not trapped in one thing. I can only do digital art. You, on the other hand, can make music, write poems and make pictures with gimp.

I used to be trapped in writing only and only stories that were pretty much the same thing. When push comes to shove I still pretty much feel the same way: my writing ability is by far the best out of everything I do. Over time this now includes poetry as well as fiction. Ironically my writing is the most neglected both on FA and in RL with my major ongoing novel/series being in the same place it was over a year ago >.<
And don't feel bad about only being good about one thing. Specialising in one thing allows you to focus on that one area and improve far more than somebody who has to do at least 3. Those who do several must lose a lot of time to practice all 3 enough to remain constant, let alone improve.
Besides, would you rather be awesome in one thing or merely good in several? (e.g. Being able to fly(!) VS being an above average runner who is fairly strong and a good swimmer. I know what I'd pick)

For info on how I do what I do see my reply to Lil-the-cat above.
I'm still amazed that people look at what I do based solely on the music. I still consider most of this stuff to just being me messing about with a song, tweaking then deciding "what the hey, I'll actually save this...oh what the heck, I'll actually consider submitting it, make a thumbnail for it and not delete it like I normally do"
