Some set up: In 1995/1996 McDonald had tried to push this new burger "for adults" and had this massive push with a large marketing campaign with a strong "this is for grown ups". The whole thing failed badly, it was trying so hard that it turned people off and the Arch Deluxe was considered a failure.

Here's something that bothers me about the horror community at large, from movies to the Creepypasta community is it's over the top nature of showing how "adult" they can be.

I use Annabelle as an example, the real* Annabelle is just a regular Raggity Ann doll that is just off with strange incidents surrounding it. Now Arch Deluxe Annabelle is now a carefully hand crafted doll for a sick little girl that got possessed by an ancient Judaeo Christian demon, as that seems to be the only kind in these kind of movies, and was again used in a ritual of a cultist to birth the devil... I don't know as I hate the movie series and can't stand to sit through them entirely.

Basically my point is Arch Deluxe horror is just too try hard to actually be scary, it's so over the top all it does is cause me to laugh.

*No, I am not going to debate the validity of claims of the supernatural as I am a believer, and had experienced strange events in my life.
