For all that I will lambast about some of Ori 2's story arcs being kinda trash (such as, unfortunately, the endgame), Ori 2 does have some genuinely well-made parts.
This side-quest is one of them.
Oh, it's not a happy one. It's relentlessly sad and its resolution is heartbreaking. But it is absolutely one of Ori 2's best moments in terms of writing.
