A little story involving the Nexus, a world I created for both roleplaying and for a story universe. A little introduction to it after a bit of transformation, of course. A young man finds himself in a strange, frightening place. As he crosses between his world and another his life changes, forever.

The nexus is basically a nexus point between the multiverses that has become it's own reality. People who slip between realities or mess up realm hopping can end up within it's world. It's expanse grows constantly, fed by bleeds in the multiverses and added on through bits and pieces of other realities. Chunks of different landscapes and environments dot the world, and leaking energy from realities often has life changing consequences to those not yet attuned to the world. The three main proprietors of the town and inn for victims that fall into the nexus are already attuned, and do what they can to help people adjust and make a living, and defend them from unusual and unexpected forces.

While most attune over time, there is the rare sort that encounter energies from other realities in various forms before they are immune. From bleeds in time space, encountering latent energy off creatures that have fallen through and live in the areas native to them in the nexus, to artifacts and objects that have become infused with energies, the bleeds can take many forms. These rare few who encounter these bleeds un-attuned may find themselves forcefully attuned for better or worse.
