And we begin. Ever wondered what Jamie would look like anime-ized? Wonder no more. First canon Who character to not be played by someone else.
OH..and yeah..I know...Chie is much shorter than even Troughton...but you get the picture. :)
Lastly, since Who had everything happen in London/Cardiff, I reckon Dare would have must of the Tokyo events happening in Tokyo.

Actually...
It's actually two questions.
1) Why wasn't he gender-swapped?
2) Why wasn't he based on an anime character?
The answers:
1) Most of the human characters weren't gender swapped...it was mainly the aliens. Hence why Tina/Tegan, Ichigo/Turlough, Nogami/Barbara etc, kept their original gender.
2) Jamie was a very very iconic companion, and finding an anime fellow that maintained Jamie's uniqueness was nigh impossible. :D
Anyways...I think Pietro and gang did a great Bishounen Jamie. :D
