A story I started for
Yosh-E-O 's birthday (March 14) last year and while I still haven't quite managed to complete it, I do feel that there's now enough of it to make for an entertaining read and to solicit comments on what has been written in the hopes of making the finished story when/if it''s completed, as polished as possible.
TIA for reading,
Sincerely, Kaffre Kitten
All named characters (excepting Kaffre) belong to
Yosh-E-O

D'aww! This is a wonderful story, Kaffre. I like how you played out each scene within the zoo. Each one having a bit of education, humor, and variation in design.
The story makes me think a lot on educational video games in which the variations help the player know where they are at while giving them a clue as to how best to keep the critters safe.
What was also neat is how each of the characters had at least one moment of fear and/or frustration. Yosh was with how the rooster wasn't getting any bread, Kaffre was afraid he was going to be spanked for something when Duckers had no intent to do so, and Winry guarded her eyes against the chickens.
Short and very sweet. Lots to imagine and read into. More notably is how you gave me a little reminder of kitty-cat behavior. I do imagine Mrs. O'Ducky would try to play cool with Kaffre visiting and finding things to put his claws to. I wonder if Kaffre's parents have like a training tool that has cat nip in it so Kaffre learns of what he can and cannot file his claws on?

Well, it's still far from complete as there are at least three more scenes I want to add once we're done with the sheep, but I am delighted to know that you like what I have down thus far. While Yosh-E is naturally the central character, I am doing my best to provide interesting scenes for all three children.
As for the claw thing, I've always imagined Kaffre having a scratching post at home, but also frequently being put into scratch mittens of the sort infants sometimes wear IRL. It's also possible that his Mommy and Daddy trim his claws for him though obviously this does nothing to relieve his scratching instincts so the mitts or scratching toys would still likely be required.

I like that nuance of Kaffre. It adds an additional dimension to his character along with a special lil' quirk that would make having him, and all our friends, together in one place. :)
I am deeply impressed with your writing here and how you did it. I thank you kindly for creating a tale with the degree of depth using so few words. It's easy to draw a lot from a little. :)
