A couple weeks ago a guy contacted me from Bangkok City, Thailand.
He wanted me to help him build an animatronic puppet for a feature length movie he was directing.
I had no idea how to help him with this, well he sent me this concept art (Top left was mine,) we collaborated with 3 artists and decided on a basic idea.
I built a mock up head out of terracotta and well, today I received a couple grand worth of equipment including but not limited to servos, PCB's, a bunch of new radios and some other trinkets.
I will be building the body out of tight weave fiberglass sheeting and lay-up resins and epoxy based resins.
The eyes are going to work with up,down,left,right and blink motions, the mouth will have a smile feature as I am going to use latex to mold the face, the mouth will open and close, his right hand will be fully functional with all fingers moving, his arms will move and head left,right,up,down and tilt.
