There are 2 open references to lesbian characters in the canon show, both of them are the same couple, in the last few episodes and compose a total of maybe 3 seconds of screen time for it. Mostly so that Hasbro could cut the sections out in order to show the episodes in Russia, Saudi Arabia and other countries where same sex romance is illegal. One scene is of the two getting together to propose to the other at the same time in the background of the shot while chaos is happening in the foreground, the second is a newspaper article in the very last episode where we see a static photo of the two heading off on their honeymoon. Most of the "progressive" lgbt positive spin attributed to the show is really just queen-baiting and gay coding for characters.

Well now *her leaves rustle in an almost visible Harumpf* Ain't that just fucking disappointing. I'd heard so many stories about how "gay" the show was too. Sounds like the same thing Adventure Time had to deal with- a show I'm actually familiar with. I understand being concerned about social impact and all but this is ridiculous. What kind of message does it send to kids that "We should love each other and accept our differences UNLESS you're gay, then we just sweep you off camera so the little heterosexuals can have another adventure without you creeping out the normals"? FUCK that.

Oh, well if you think that's bad you should see what they did with the spin off series Equestria Girls, in atleast two of the movies they have the main character, (a pony), having romantic leanings with a human boy that she literally just met, and in the second instance its a forced romance angle with an older boy who is in a position of authority over them. *sarcastic voice* Real nice message there Hasbro, make the ponies human so you can reinforce the heteronormative culture and then stick in a creepy stalker angle to double down with, brilliant move.

Though there are heavy implications, (read more queer baiting) that two of the "mane 6" are not only gay but married at some point after the show ends. The gameloft game and the comics also imply this, but it's never outright stated.

Great job there, Hasbro. I'm sure the conservative trash must LOVE your shows for their "strong family values"...
