Three hooded figures trekked through the dimly lit corridors of the ancient facility. Flickers of light lit up the way on occasion, their footsteps and dripping water the only sounds echoing through the passages.
"Are you sure this is the place, Summer?" one said to the other, pulling back her hood to reveal a white hedgehog.
"Yes," another huffed, pulling back her own hood to show her grey curly quills. "Stop asking, Kinomi! I promise that my info is good!"
"Pipe down, you two," the third called back, pulling back his hood and brushing his green quills to the side. "There's a light up ahead."
A constant light was leaking out of a partially opened door further down the corridor. They all creeped closer to investigate. Peering inside, they saw a monitor displaying static, partially lighting up what looked to be a workshop of some sort.
"Telsa, look at that!" Summer said, pointing to a jar on one of the dusty tables. The contents of the jar looked to be a yellow liquid that glowed in the dim light of the monitor. "See, I told you guys!"
Kinomi blew a raspberry at Summer quickly, before asking, "Should we just go in and grab it? Looks like no one's home..."
"Keep an eye out," replied Telsa. "This seems too easy." He pushed the door open slowly.
The room was filled with odds and ends of metal scraps and chemical containers. A few scattered long tables were piled up with various bits and pieces, most looking quite dusty and undisturbed for quite a while.
"Why would he just leave it out here?" Summer seemed to ask herself as she walked over to the jar.
"I dunno," Kinomi stated as she continued to look around. "But I say let's grab it and go. This place is way too dusty for my tastes."
Summer took one more look around and shrugged. She reached down and gently picked up the glowing jar.
Immediately, the monitor changed from static to flashing red. "Look out!" Kinomi yelled as some kind of turret retracted from the ceiling. She dashed forward and pulled Summer out of the way of the first blast.
Telsa, who had been standing to the side of the room, scaled the wall in a flash, giving a swift kick to the turret and smashing its barrel. "This way, ladies!" he shouted, dropping back to the floor and jumping out the door.
Summer and Kinomi followed suit, and all three of them dashed back down the corridors, now lit up with flashing red emergency lights. "He must have triggered the whole place as one big trap!" said Summer.
"Watch out, up ahead!" Kinomi yelled as a giant mechanical construct turned the corner in front of them. "Upsie-Daisy Tels!" she called as she jumped up, grabbed Telsa, and sling-shotted him into the air.
Spinning in the air, Telsa came down on the construct's head, bringing the whole thing down with a resounding thud and crushing its "head" in his hands.
"Halt intruders!" came robotic voices as more robots piled in from side corridors both in front of and behind the group.
"Ladies," Telsa said with a smirk, "Time to earn our pay."
