Oh, that was reference for something that was never realized.
The original request was to have her sitting on a chair/sofa.
Looking at somebody, her gaze becoming more and more tired or amorous, but then undoubtedly tired... (her winding down, basically)
Then somebody re-wound her, with her making a funny face.
And the animation cycled.

Oh Philomela before getting her magic could be "turned off" by disengaging her main spring (which is something she still has even with her magic).
But it would hardly ever be necessary, unless she locks up, for her winding lasts very little.
Philophana never had a spring in the first case, so she simply cannot be "turned off".
Though she does have a page in her comic where she fakes it (really badly) because she wants to be left alone.
