So a little over a week ago, I pledged to paint my giant rats this month. Unfortunately, I have been sick for over three weeks now. Sinus infection. Yay. Anyway, I don't have the energy to do much, and it is hard to paint when you have to stop and cough or blow your nose frequently, so change of plans!
These four figures are my alternate plan. Well, at least ONE of them will be. Two Master Moulders (100 pts each), two Grey Seers (120 pts each). My goal is to paint at LEAST one of these minis. Whatever else I can get done past that is just gravy this month. These are all old metal minis. On the left is a 4th/5th edition Packmaster with a replacement sword, who will be one of my Master Moulders. Next to him is the more modern of the two Throt the Unclean sculpts. I lost his sword, and on a whim sculpted a small ball in his left hand. That's going to be painted red. In my storyline for my Moulder army, he uses a red rubber ball with a bell in it to train Wolf-Rats and Giant Rats. To his right is one of the older Thanquol sculpts, and on the far right is Gnawdoom, one of the original Skaven Grey Seer sculpts. I've always liked that sculpt, and somehow lucked out and got one in a bulk buy with a bunch of random old metal skaven minis.
Since they're all Heroes, they have to be on 32mm bases (which was annoying since I'd originally based the two Master Moulders on 25mm bases - I had to rip the bases off and redo them). Since my "sand rats" live in the desert, I modeled these heroes on mounds of putty which will be based to look like sand dunes.
