It was an idea for a comic I had where a bunch of fantasy characters band together and undertake Sidequests for Cash while the 'real heros' usually go to the tavern or otherwise relax.

Mut was the result of a Barbarian who had his but handed to him by a Monk and realised "I wanna know how to do that!"

He's part poodle and part Bulldog. Easily the shortest member of the group he is the strongest. He brings to the party muddled wisdom, and several cans of Whoopass.

In my little setting the thing on his arm is actually an alignment 'gearshift'. When he needs to do things questionable to his morality he can switch to the appropriate one. This doesn't mean he has tremendous moodswings but he can change his point of view.

Also it's a great way to counter alignment-changing magics
