Despite all of Leo's self-reflection there was still one feeling that always eluded his grasp of control: denial.

Sure, in the back of his mind, he knew that weeks of eating burgers and fries before his workouts and then spending all afternoon eating junk food on the couch with his brothers didn't just lead to nothing.

Sure, in the back of his mind, he knew that every greasy bite he took was only adding to the growing layers of pudge caking to his frame, causing his calves and thighs to swell, his belly to bulge or forward, his upper arms to sag to the ground, and his cheeks to press out either side of his face.

But part of him didn't want to believe that he of all turtles had let himself go. No, it must be that he was tired, despite sleeping in till noon, or that he didn't have enough to eat, despite his brunch burger binge. No, it couldn't be that he was fat and only getting fatter, putting more and more strain on his increasingly under utilized muscles, it had to be something else; anything else...
