It's been awhile since I've drawn Sapphire and Mimic, so I decided to take a bit of time and do another "slice of life" picture with them. For those that don't know, Sapphire and Mimic are two Pathfinder Adventure characters of mine. Sapphire is an extraordinarily powerful frontline fighter and diplomat; and through some unusual events, became friends with an eccentric, trouble-making (yet good-hearted) mimic.

But I really didn't get the anatomy and proportions right for either of them (Sapphire is small even by kobold standards, so Mimic would be much larger than her), and I felt I could make the scene even more fun.
What is the gigantic beast Mimic is eating?

Sapphire and Mimic are definitely not typical members of their ilk. Not only is Sapphire pure-hearted, but she's actually an astonishingly powerful fighter and an Archbishop in the Church of Sarenrae. Times are changing, and kobolds are growing into something better.
As a matter of fact, the whole reason Sapphire ended up befriending Mimic was because she had no interest in the potential treasure and instead wanted to return it where it belonged.
When the "treasure" was revealed to be a mimic, her party members prepared to fight it, but Sapphire refused to do so, because the mimic had not harmed her. Mimic, being a bit eccentric in his own right, decided to follow Sapphire and her group around for the promise of free food, new sights, and people tolerating his pranks. <3

I knew saphires origin story as you've told it to me before and i've watched your works for years.
and i think i 'vaugly' remember another comic involving this mimic but maybe im wrong but anyway yeah nice to know this one has an origin too
i like the evil race good member subversion, i have since i first read icewind dale and was introduced to the might, and majesty that the master hunter the keeper of the spirit guennhavar(sp) the weilder of iceingdeath and twinkel, the drow ranger Drizzit Do'Urden
