From our concert of February 21, 2010. Mr. Joe Alessi of the NY Philharmonic performs Derek Bourgeois' "Trombone Concert" Mvt. 2 with the San Jose Wind Symphony. The climax is just so moving!

This is absolutely gorgeous. My love for classical music of course plays a big role in this comment ^_^

Very nice :) It must be awesome to actually play in an orchestra. Nothing is more soothing than listening to the beautiful sounds that comes from everyone ^_^

Well, I can't be too soothed during the performance or else I lose my place and forget to play (it's happened!) But it's a lot of fun. And I always get the recordings afterwards so I can listen without having to count measures, hehe.

Whoopsy ^_^ and what happens if you forget to play or screw up? Does the conductor or someone chew you out afterwards?
You know...all this talk about classical music and how soothing it is...now I'm seriously in the mood to go watch an orchestra perform...thanks

Well if you live in the bay area you can come see my group play! As for what happens to me when I forget to play? It's extremely rare, but the worst I usually get is a razzing from the other percussion players. Since it's not a professional group, it takes a LOT to get the conductor actually angry enough to chew you out, though that has happened occasionally. Hehe.

I wish I was in the bay area...just to come listen, but unfortunately, I'm clear across the country on the east coast. *shrugs* oh well. I haven been listening to some of the other pieces you have uploaded. They are all quite fantastic ^_^
