Week 13! And for a very special 20th episode of the FBA Post Up Podcast, I traveled to Addison, TX to record brand new voice talent during a one hour panel at Furry Fiesta 2010. This episode features many never-before-heard voices of talented individuals throughout the furry community!
A huge thanks to everyone who participated in my "Voice Acting Workshop" panel at Furry Fiesta 2010. Regrettably, I was not able to use all the performances I recorded during the panel, but I've given credit to everyone who stepped up to the microphone and recorded for me.
Making this episode was a learning experience for me. First, I had a great time hosting my first pane at a fur con. Second, I got to meet some wonderful, talented people. And finally, I learned, I can make quality recordings on the road! Just listen to the voices I captured during the panel! I've indicated the recordings from TFF below.

Absolutely! I hold live podcast recordings about once a month over Livestream. To participate, you'll need a microphone and Skype or any other voice-capable online communication software. Or, you can record your lines with your own software and e-mail them to me. Check my FA page for announcements on when the next recording will be.
Also, if you attend a furry convention where I'll be holding a voice acting panel, just attend! My panel at Furry Fiesta 2010 was a big success, and I'll absolutely be doing it again.

You did a great job, thanks so much for helping out!
The dirt-cheap way to build a pop filter is with a wire hanger and a pair of pantyhose. If you can handle the funny looks when you buy the pantyhose, you can build a filter just as good as the $40 ones they sell in the stores!

Great episode, Buck!
I wish I could be more involved, but my weekends are so jammed up, doesn't really work out that way! However, I wanted to give props for the great 'Unsheathed' holla-back I thought I heard in there.
The mentioning working with an otter and having some wine and the "Do I look like a FOX to you?" actually had me laughing. Love little snippets like this.
If you ever need anything for D-Chill again lemme know! I won't send you a horrible .band file this time ;)

Thanks, J-Ott! I'm so glad someone mentioned the Unsheathed joke. I had the idea in the back of my head for a while, and TFF was the perfect place to get it recorded. Not only was it a call out to one of the con's GoHs, but I was able to get Kyell Gold's permission in person.
And, you bet! I think D-Chill is going to need to appear again. Now that he's teamed up with his brother and the outstanding veteran L.V. McDyess, Bradford is about to show the FBA the newest Big 3!

Grim's tone made the Ceebaff (that's how I say it) team seem somewhat menacing, and Zear's comments added to that.
I just wonder if some of the players named to the team will worry about the PRC's domestic policy and/or potential jet lag.
And I'm glad there was some justification for Idaho accepting the trade and not just someone being asleep at the wheel. They about tripled their pre-existing losing streak, but good thing they appear to have taken at least some corrective action. Say, when was it that Azntiger give Tobu control?

Okay, that was fun to listen to. Being there at the recording gave it the whole "hey, I know that guy!" thrill, or "I know that gal!" She did a great Russian accent, didn't she?
Oh, on something you mentioned in an earlier comment: having Dragonatic for an ice-breaker probably DID help! I think I may have wandered in a bit late to catch his recording session, but I always worry about seeming a little too eager, if I'm the first one asking to play at this kind of thing. I may be 100% ham once I get going (truly ironic for a mostly Kosher cat), but worry I'll come across as a glory hog if I start waving and going "oh, pick me!" too early on. Man, what is it with me and the pork metaphors today?
Quick question: I noticed that one or two of the recordings from Furry Fiesta had a lot of reverberation to them. Was that because of the echo in the panel room, or did you add that so it would sound like they were speaking in an auditorium with hard, flat walls and loud microphones? If that wasn't something you added on purpose...well, it still works!
PS: It was great getting to meet you at Fiesta. You seemed like a swell guy, and I enjoyed getting to chat with you over breakfast on Saturday. Definitely got the day off to a good start!

Awesome! Glad you like the final product. And thank you so much for helping out! This episode would never have been as good as it is without the help of talented furries like yourself. And thanks for going the extra mile and helping read off-mic lines for other talent. I think it helped keep people's heads turned the right way into the microphone.
I'll have to keep that in mind for future panels. I don't want people to feel shy about coming up, or feeling like they're being too eager if they do. I learned a lot holding this panel, and I have some ideas for what I can do to make the next one more fun. I'm sure I'll keep learning more as I hold more panels.
I added sound effects to some of the recordings. Some of them are clean off the mic, but others have reverb added to sound like it was taken from a PA system, like for a press conference, and some of them I kill the frequencies on to make it sound like a phone call. There was room reverb on all the recordings, but I was really delighted by how little trouble it gave me. The recordings are get were outstanding and very usable.
