The Serpasis were an ancient race as far as the Earth had known. In truth, this race itself was alien in origin as they arrived upon the Earth when a stray comet struck the surface. Not large enough to cause any long lasting damage but small enough that most did not notice its arrival. Within this comet, however, were a race of sentient snakes composed of some sort of gelatinous slime. When the Serpasis took to the Earth, they were able to take to the different biomes almost immediately, able to thrive and adapt to the various elements. While still adolescent, the Serpasis are able to travel through the environs without much issue but once coming into maturity, each Serpasis must choose one biome in which to call its home and upon the day of maturity, their bodies will begin to adapt and alter itself to take on elements of their surroundings.

This variant of Serpasis is of the mountainous variety. Unlike many of the other variants, the mountain Serpasis has lost it's purely gelatinous form thanks to having taken to the mountains as its home. Being among the course dirt and multitude of rocks and stones, its body has absorbed many different minerals into its body and thus has lost its elasticity. Its body can still extend as to strike out at prey or enemies up to 10 to 20 feet out but does not contain any liquid or adhesive properties like that of the jungle or water related biomes. But what it lacks in gelatinous properties, it makes up with the mineral composition. Its body is thicker, allowing just a simple grasp rather than relying on anything adhesive. As well, it can further protect itself by taking in stone and rocks into its body to form a type of armor, thus making itself even more dangerous to deal with. Depending on the location of mountain, the stone can either be weaker or stronger to suit its needs. That being said, the mountain variant can alter its appearance drastically and should any stone be damaged upon its body, the Serpasis can expel the stone and simply take new stone into its body. Along with the stone, the Serpasis could even take advantage of precious stones and gems to use in its form of hypnosis. Instead of using extra eyes, toxins or other methods, the mountain Serpasis instead uses these gems to hypnotize possible prey. As such, it might lie in wait with the gem in view to entice prey close, increasing the shine or glimmer to lure prey into a false sense of security before striking.
