This is my friend, Gene. I met him in college while working towards my Bachelor's degree. He had come back from Vietnam in 1973, and just won his heavyweight division at the college. We took a lot of classes together. Quite a cute Irish guy with a quirky sense of humor. He moved to San Francisco the following year.

1974, huh? I wouldn't even be a thought in anybody's mind until fifteen years later. I'm surprised you still have some of the work from back then. I wish I still had some of my work from at least ten years ago. Unfortunately not.
Anyway you were a great artist back then and even more so now. It's cool to see where you came from.

I bet you wanted to become an art teacher, huh? Just a guess. Anyway, I just love looking back at my old work, it's great to see how much someone can both change and improve.
One last thing, please don't take it the wrong way, but I think your quads anatomy is a little off here. I'm not sure what it is though. Then again, maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

Oh I know it's probably off. I was really going for mass in a hulked-out way. And maybe rearranging the quads to accomplish that.
I think the quads are best exaggerated. Mike Platz and Danny "Quadzilla" Padilla are wonderful and extreme examples on how MUCH a human IRL can really sculpt his legs. Thanks! I love your art, too. A lot. Someday you need to try your hand at drawing a moose (hint. hint).
Anyway, I have a long way to go. Yes, a teacher in Jr. High influenced me to become a Fine ARts teacher. Little did I know how far it would take me.
