Very classic furry art. Actually, mainstream classic - sorry to make the comparison, but so acceptable as to be a portrait orientation substitute for "Dogs Playing Poker." After all, you have yet another canine substitution...

*laughs* You are very right, Bear-paws. A number of Old Master classics have been so over-used as to become almost characterizations of themselves. The same thing can be said of certain historial figures as well. That is part of the reason I allowed Freaky to chose Napoleon. Their have many of the same character traits. :-D

Hmm.. having dealt with him, I picture him more as the fast-talking fox from Disney's Pinnochio

And it was just that talent that allowed Freaky to talk me into painting him as the Emperor of the French. :-D

As for my new computer, I've finally gotten it, all my programs, my printer/scanner and my mail program all playing nice with one another. My only casualties were about ten years worth of e-mails and all my e-mail addresses.

When working on a piece like this one can't help but think of Napoleon and his life; the high points and the rather sad and lonely end. Heh, that and having "la Marseilles" and the "1812 Overture" continually running through your mind with every brush stroke. :-D

Yes, Freaky definately would love to rule the world, if for no other reason that to have it all belong to him and him alone. Not quite sure what he would do with it once he had it, but I suppose that wouldn't matter to him.

Most of my pics tend to have elaborate backgrounds since I think thought-out backgrounds can help suggest the story of What, Where, When and sometimes the Why of the character depicted. Of course the viewer is free to interpret the suggested story as he or she cares to. There is no test at the end of the week.
