I Quit My Day Job

HELLO EVERYONE deep apologies for having fucking fallen off of the face of the Earth once again.
The "Day Job" that was meant to support me while I do my art stuff, ended up being ... Not great. All-consuming, even. When I would come home, too exhausted to properly feed myself, something had to give. Everything was undergoing a slow death around me, from my own health, to my orchids, and I'd hate to imagine the level of less-than-sublime care I could offer for my cats. (They're fine, I just couldn't give them the attention and level of care they deserve.)
I reached a breaking point somewhat recently, and finally just kind of decided; Fuck it. We'll do it live.
I plan to get aboard a mentorship program that, should I be accepted (and my chances sound very optimistic) I'll get government funding for a year to help me complete the project. A lot of things are lining up; I just have to commit.
SO COMMIT I WILL! No more fumbling or retreating or going "maybe next year." WE'RE HERE AND WE'RE HORNY AND WE'RE GONNA DO IT LIVE.

good on you for sticking to your guns and getting out of that toxic work environment
I have a slight hearing problem that gets in the way of things like being a waiter, working at a call center, and other fast-paced service jobs. Game testing has been a decent fallback, but with no real upward mobility. After a few years of cycling between minimum wage jobs, eventually one just kind of wonders if they can't go further on their own.

I'm doing a lot better! I'm also doing freelancing full time. Right now my income is mainly from streams as I work to abolish my old old queue. It can be exhausting, but I do love it a lot sometimes. Mostly trying out different ideas n projects. I really hope you do well!
