Sadly few people realize this. With the way modern society works people feel that if they cannot tear someone down with words then their "right to free speech" is being impeded. It seems they don't remember a law called, "Slander".

Or to put things in terms their primative brains can understand, "freedom of speech" does not mean "freedom to be an asshole."

Actually, freedom of speech does mean that one can express opinions that others find icky. But, freedom of speech does not mean that one is free from the consequences of that speech. If you lie, then others will eventually find out that you are a liar and discount everything you ever say as probably a lie. And then you get ignored as the twit that you are.
Freedom of speech means that you can say any stupid ass thing you can fit out of your mouth. But it doesn't mean that I have to listen to your speech, or have any duty to use my resources to spread your speech.

It's all about responsibility and accountability that comes with that freedom.

That's why we used to tell fables to kids, like the boy who cried wolf.

People can be such asshats. When I saw that drawing a while back, I thought it was cute and a nice POV about furry pr0n... or more so as I ended up seeing it as erotic furry art. Anyways, I guess people feel like they got shanked in the side when they see an opinion or point of view that opposes their's and feel like they have to make that other person feel like a total dumb ass instead of giving some kind of credit for seeing something in a different light. I've always thank someone at work for thinking out of the box, even if their idea isn't the best. It gives that person encouragement to continue thinking in different ways instead of just being a lemming, just following the flow like a mindless drone.

I wouldn't take anything serious in those image post forums. They're just as bad as those chan forums, filled with trollers. Worst, most of them don't even have the balls to tell you what they think in RL to your face. That's one thing I hate about social sites on the internet. People think they can get away saying hurtful things since they don't get the repercussion they would get in like... if they said it in the classroom or workplace.

Sadly too many people do that kinda shit. The reasons why they do it are vast but still it's so not right. I say that if a viewer doesn't like a piece of art or the artist, then the assholes don't have to look. Better yet don't even bother with the asses. I say that every artist is great. Be it in writing, drawn or any other types of art, every artist has his or her own reasons for doing it. Though I've seen artists who are better then myself as well as, in my opinion, not as good as myself, I will not, could not bring myself to scorn them. I see too many fellow furry artist leave the fandom because of the haters. The way I see it is if the assholes get to you and get you to retaliate, they win. Don't let them get to you, I don't let them get to me. I blow them off and keep on keeping on.

While i love places such as e621 for hosting what i can't easily search for ... bear in mind that the people who talk in there think they're the hot stuff and feel like they SHOULD because they CAN. These are the types of people with absolutely no life whatsoever, and willingly at that.

It's like when i say those kids who can't help their mental/behavioral/learning issues "students with special needs," while i call those who act willingly stupid "retarded."

I got banned for removing inaccurate gender tags from my own submissions. The mod I dealt with was a total basement lurker.

I like commissioning prons and drawing them, but the driving motive is to depict healthy sexuality and positive body image involving transgender characters. I hate that I am associated with fetishists by virtue of my body type. It's upsetting, so I decided to encourage something less 'extreme male fantasy fetish'. That's why I commission and draw prons. I've never once 'fapped' to any of it.

I personally love both this picture and "Pussy Cat Says." I adore the quote in this one in particular but the quote in "Pussy Cat Says" was actually highly inspiring for me. I'm not totally sure how but it made me feel warm, fuzzy and confidant. I wouldn't listen to people like the trolls and flamers on e621. Just keep creating your art. There will always be someone who feels bad about themselves and wants you to feel bad as well. Misery loves company but no one loves to be miserable. Then I noticed your name on the list so clicked again and saw a handful of your stuff there. Wasn't sure if you knew or not, but, well, guess ya do now!

As far as the commentators, well...it is what it is, I suppose. Negativity and apathy seem to be a big factor with a lot of people in the audience that your artwork is directed at, which is an unfortunate reality.

My metaphor for "teh Intarnets" is an infinite field of loud white noise. Dispersed about this field are upward and downward spikes. These represent collections of content (CNN.com, http://www.bbc.co.uk, Wikipedia, even FurAffinity). Each of us sees the spikes differently depending on your viewpoint. Upward spikes show content you agree with; downward spikes show content you disagree with.

The comments on the picture linked at the start of this journal don't realize that they're contributing far more to the white noise than the spikes.

Its e621. Why does anyone read the comments?

On a porn site, you're going to find comments that represent the clientele : 99% of the traffic is from people who just want to see smut, therefor they're going to bitch and moan when something intelligent shows up. In skimming thru the comments, I did notice that several people agreed and defended your statements. These are the people who "Got the Joke" so to speak.
With that in mind, it makes ignoring the negative comments easier.

I suggest that you do try to ignore comments on any image board similar to E621, 4chan etc. They aren't modded and anyone can post, so of course, you are going to have asshats there just wanting to either screw with you or get porn to jerk off to.

However I completely agree with your comment and the picture prior because it is both really cute and brings up a good point.

No viewpoint is stupid. Period, and the fact you mentioned that there are many reasons why furry artists draw porn should be enough.

I will also say it is generally easy to tell the difference between porn drawn because the artist genuinely wanted to draw it and that drawn for the sake of money. There is always so much more heart and depth to personal pictures than most commissions and porn for the sole sake of being porn.

Though I might not completely agree with your comments, or personally feel your comment is a little biased, those are just nit picky things. The overall message was the point, artists do it for their own reasons. Plain and simple. I hadn't realized the concept was rocket science.

As someone who tends to have opinions in the grey area and is often times called stupid (among other things) by both the black and white side, thank you for making this picture. It's nice to see someone once in a while seeing the grey area or at least saying that it's okay.
