"Annnnnd...THERE!" Ankhata proclaimed, a proud look spreading across her face as she moved her knight out from behind the line of pawns, placing it squarely on the board in its new position. She sat back proudly, visage almost seeming to sparkle as she smuggly grinned at her play partner.
"I can take your Queen next turn!" she snickered, Chione giving her a knowing smirk and fanning thought as she looked over the board before her.
"That you can my Queen...you certainly have me on the back foot." she said with a slight smirk. Ankhata just continued to beam, confident in her stance as Chione almost felt bad for how much it was about to slump. But, she knew her queen would chastise her for going easy on her, so she gave a bit of a sigh, and moved her Bishop down the diagonal white line of the board. It flowed down to the line of untouched pawns, her hand adeptly taking the black pawn away while placing her Bishop in line where it had stood, as she looked up at her queen and said calmly.
"Checkmate."
"...w-WHAT?!?" Ankhata blurted out, her eyes flashing open as she looked down at the board. "You cant have possibly...." She blinked a few more times, looking at the placement of the Bishop in relation to her king, as well as Chione's Queen in relation to that Bishop. The King had to go for the Bishop, but even if it did the queen would end its life. If the knight went for the queen, then the bishop ended the King. Seven turns it, seven turns was all it took this time.
After a few more moments of staring, Ankhata collapsed back in her chair, a pouty look coming across the powerful queens face.
"Hmmff....fine...you win..." she grumbled, Chione giggling a bit as her arm left her chin and she stared at her queen.
"You know I can go a bit easier on you my Queen." she said with a smile, Ankhata just folding her arms and hmffing even more, just sitting for a bit before sighing and giving her a look, still pouting but a bit less so now.
"Noo no...I want to see that mind in action, that is half the reason for these games. I like to know that my kingdom is in good hands." she stated, giving her a bit of a smirk as Chione just nodded back at her.
"That being said...I reallllly thought I'd last longer then that this time!" she whined, the queen not looking very queen like as she slumped even more in her chair, staring out at the vast Egyptian expanse behind them as Chione made hast resetting the board.
"Another game then, my Queen? I'm sure youll do better this time." She said with a smirk, Ankhata looking back at her with still a pouty lip, but sitting herself back up and giving her a challenging smile.
"Your onnnn! best two out of three!" She stated, rubbing her hands together. "And I go first!"
"As you wish, my queen..." Chione chuckled, as her chin went back to resting on her wrist, and she stared as Ankhata eagerly looked over the board, deciding on what her first move would be. Hopefully, she wouldn't move out the same pawn two spaces forward this time....
First of all, I'd like to say for the story I used this board https://sta.sh/03xi8257ek4 as the set up for the win x3 I told
DinoGoat to pick a board that was 'one move away from a checkmate' and based upon a lot of the piece position I think she was going for this one >//> I only figured out what board it was while writing this story so I figured I'd just leave it as is, those pieces look like a pain enough as it is no need to change it all up just to move a few around ; 3 ; . Heheh I adore how this turned out though, Ankhata just looks so smug, no idea what was coming for her >//> and I like the thoughtful look in Chione's eyes. Also almost forget, Chione is 
SashaShark 's! >3< a lovely gator that is Ankhata's right hand! she's the brains behind Ankhata's brawn. the one that leads the people while Ankhata simply lords over them. Me and her felt that was a pretty fun dynamic between the two, and I was really happy to get this picture with them to show it :3. Loved giving some personality to Ankhata too outside of 'linen queen that binds people up and tortures them' xD I rather love the characterization here, and love giving Ankhata a bit of a board game obsession >//> wonder if she's gotten into Warhammer in the present day....
