Well, this is just an assumption, but I suppose he's being punished for accidentally harming a member of a wealthy family. I'd like to assume that this is his first crime so he go punished by being tied on pole on a cliff top of a mountain, where he will spent solitary reflection on his actions. At least that's what I think.

And yes, that's his name. It's a pity what happened to him in the story, but that's what he gets after learning his past.

I see him standing there for about half an hour before getting bored,

any suggestions on a possible story?^^

The snow and biting winds at least might be fairly easy to endure given that he's a polar bear, though I imagine from his despondency that he might have been here for a while and in the bleak conditions it's unlikely there will be many whom might be venturing out and possibly come across him. Already he's found that his strength is waning as the gnawing in his stomach increases and he's given up on trying to work his bonds loose and his throat is so dry that even if he could be heard over the wind he'd be unable to cry out. Yet he knows that he might linger on for a few days more, help never arriving until finally he dies of hunger and thirst.

Alternatively, he's regretting having gotten himself into another drinking contest given that he always ends up losing and finding himself waking up in these sorts of situations. His brothers never do tire of pulling these sorts of pranks on him but he knows that they'll come and untie him in a few hours. He's just hoping that they'll just untie him right away and not try and anything else hilarious like shaving his belly first, given how long it took the fur to grow back.

Only positive thing here is that, naturally, polar bears actually suffer from overheating.
