HA! After all the times he drew my character on EXC I finally get to draw his. SO yay! Mostly because I've never drawn a mule before.. and they are just too darn cute to pass up ^_^
Anyways, my half for the equine exchange on LJ. This is rantingmule's character Mavado, and he's taking a walk in the city, contemplating what his new years resolution shall be. Keh! Well, maybe not :p
I'm proud of this either way. I like the movement and my colors. For once I didn't screw up too much on this one. Two days to do. Prismacolor pencils and markers. I was watching Hollow Man, too, while working on this last night, lol.
But, what do you think.. anatomy better?... Besides whether or whether not his head is too big... please!

O.O Thank you. Though I find it funny, you always manage to comment on one of my pieces now and again though you weren't watching me before. And yes, hopefully I can keep this coloring up. Its always hard to keep a coloring style constant, but I try! And thank you again!
The pose seems off to me - I believe the main problem is with the waist... it looks too small, compared to the thick shoulders/chest/neck and legs/bum. His whole torso looks like it's at one angle, and the legs at a different one. Maybe he just has a weird gait...?
Anyway. The colouring is gorgeous! I looove the texture. I especially like the scarf (the folds, texture, and color around the neck), and his hair (the little wispy bits near the bottom of his neck are great... the whole 'mane' is in itself amusing.), and the FACE! I keep staring at the cheek, because the shape of it is just so... right. Eee! And the expression is amusing... it looks really in-character. ^^

Thick legs and bum? aww, I was going for a baggy pants look >.< And he's supposed to be slouched slightly... no? heh, I tried. I usually try to use references, but good male references are hard to find, and I have yet to take my figure drawing class for this year, lol.

I do see that he's slouching. Eh, I sympathise with you on the lack of good male references! And, ah, it'd be a wee bit awkward to ask kin to pose. xD
I, too, love horse cheeks. The shape is just, well, appealing. And when one gets it right, it helps tremendously in making one's horse look realistic. =)
