“Jungle Perils aside, here are the foes I probably find myself fighting the most on the island,… Meet ‘The Boneheads.’
Well,… that’s what I call them anyway,.. the Skeletal Warrior minions of a pair Necromancers,… did I say that right? Necromancers? I did, okay,… a pair of Necromancers that live on the island, and serve the Dark Forces, dwelling in a region known as The Boneyard,… sort of an ancient graveyard, piled with the bones of ancient creatures and people, and littered with treacherous tar pits,… a place I prefer to avoid. They use the bones here, and dark magics granted to them by the Dark Forces, to create these skeletal minions, and send them after me, with the purpose of destroying me, so they can free the Dark Forces,… needless to say, I don’t intend to oblige them.
The Boneheads are tough, strong, and fierce warriors,… but they are also brainless,…. really, they have no brains,… though they can fight well, they lack the ability to follow more than the simplest of instructions, or to think on their feet when a battle turns against them,… and while they are faster than they look, I find them to be a bit on the slow side. With my speed and weapons, a battle against a single Bonehead is a quick and easy fight,… but that’s the problem,… there is Never just One Bonehead,… there are always five or six more nearby,… and battling those can quickly become a fight against a dozen or more. That is where their real strength lies, in their numbers,… if you’re not careful and stay on the move, you risk being surrounded, and swarmed,…
Oh, yeah, these three in the front, they are kind of special,… though I’m not exactly sure why,… somehow they always manage to survive or come back,… no matter how many times I bash or cut them to pieces,… but only those three for some reason. I’d think maybe they were some kind of leaders among the Boneheads, but they don’t seem any smarter than the others, though they do appear to have a little more personality, though that’s not saying much. Since they are unique, and keep turning up, I decided to name them,… the tall one is Larry, the short one is Curly, and the medium one is Moe,… I’ve even managed to get them to start responding to their names too.
Whoop,… looks like they spotted me,… here we go again,…”

Ember’s realm of Nightshade Island continues to expand, as yet more of the villains and foes she contends with are visualized. The Boneheads here are much like they seem, and she describes, the cannon fodder, generic minions of the villains they serve, much like Storm Troopers. Visualized by BAB I think these came out great, I love the armor designs, which give them sort of a Viking appearance, and the cold, dull lifeless colors I think are a good contrast to the warm vibrant colors that Ember sports. The tattered and worn armor is a great touch, and contrasts nicely to the visible bones, but to me it's the cold glow in their eye sockets that adds so much to this piece. The background ended up as much more than I expected, meant to infer a vague horde of skeletons behind them, BAB went beyond expectations, with the differing helmet styles seen in the silhouettes adding a great deal to the 'horde' and the tattered banners really adds the proper feel of an army, with the same cold glow in their eyes, and that fog or mist lingering around them, obscuring those behind the main three, and leaving one to wonder just how many more there might be back there in the horde. And the main three shown here ended up with more personality than I expected, so I just had to add a bit about them and make them unique.
