Wasgo is a Haida Sea monster.
Resembling a giant wolf, with a long orca-like body with 3 dorsal fins, and Fins coming out of it’s flocks (it had legs and all).
While some stories depict it as terrorizing Haida villages, there are stories otherwise as well. One was such that a man found 2 Wasco pups and mistook them for wolf pups. Seeing that the mother was nowhere and the pups howling and starving, he assumed she had been killed. He took the pups to his village and raised them. When they were full-grown, like Wolves, they were loyal to their pack and would go hunting for Orcas for their village. Each would return with 3 Orcas.
A traditional depiction of Wasgo would be that of Wasgo with one Orcas in its mouth, one in its tail and one in its paws.

This was my desktop FOREVER. (well, back when there was a non-watermarked copy) The little Wasco border is my favorite part, you know. It's always kinda had me interested in designing a NW style bandana, for my headwrap needs. The only one I have like that now is from some local Canoe Family that was fundraising a couple years back.
Oh, and welcome to FA! You need to visit WA again. *cries*

Dude, I will be doing some Bandannas and Scarves... the local store wanted some for themselves, so it’s going to be a project I’ll be embarking on! I’ll post pics and info as they warrant. XD
I’m dying to get back out West for a bit.. as always!
And yes1 I am finally on FA... and I watched you too! I knew that bear the moment I saw the icon! ;)
