Poor Spike. However it is very nice to see him in school. The show made it seem like he did not go to school at all. He was just taught by Twilight and Celestia.

Going to a primary school would have been good for Spike. Twilight stayed isolated and Princess Celestia could not have been able to offer much time to help him learn to socialize.

This situation, I feel, would happen in both primary school and with Twilight. Twilight would be strict on times and not disrupting her lesson. The primary school teacher would know how some children use 'going to the potty' as a way to skip out of class. So poor Spike is just out of luck entirely.

Perhaps this scene takes place on a warm day after the class finished Gym / PE / Physical Education? Spike was feeling really thirsty and drank a lot of water from the button-operated water fountain. It cooled him down and quenched his thirst but also, having not eaten lunch yet, would make his bladder soon demand release.

Class is going fine until our little dragon friend feels that need to go. He looks about the classroom to see nobody else distracted form their work. He also knows when the class is escorted to the restroom and that time is after this class.

Spike tries to focus on his drawing but he just keeps feeling that growing need to get out what his body wishes to get out.

He looks, again, to see if anyone else appears uncomfortable. If others look uncomfortable, the teacher may be willing to take everyone to the restroom more sooner than later. However everybody seems just fine as they happily work on their projects.

Not much later, Spike squeezes his legs together while feeling his entire body beg for release from what his bladder wants him to do. He tries to focus on the crayons but all he can do is move it around in his claw. His focus entirely on his desperate need to go.

This would be the time that he would desperately ask to get a hall pass to use the restroom. However the teacher replies with, "I'm sorry Spike, but that's not how it works. In school, there is a scheduled time for those kinds of things. You'd have to wait until lunch, my dear."

Spike looks to the wall clock to see lunch will be in 5 minutes. However an additional ache hits the young dragon as he uses a combination of his claws and legs to try and hold back the flood that is about to occur.

Four minutes pass as Spike's eyes remain staring directly at the clock as he focusses on only his breathing and not moving a muscle.

What happens next is, well, open to interpretation. :)

Hehehe I love this short but curious and really accurate story that you've just written. Even if I didn't think deeper which context would be related to the drawing, I have to say that when I was reading it, it sounded exactly like something that I could imagine. The part of the gym or physical education class wasn't considered by me honestly. In the back of the drawing, there is the class schedule with some classes like Math, History, English or Art, but I've never thought about that one. Anyway, it sounds pretty possible.

I appreciate you allowing me to make stories based on your pictures. It provides me a chance to see where a simple idea can go before it reaches a set point that remains open for additional interpretation.

Today, I was happy you put this up. I worked on writing the little story while I tried to keep from having a big tantrum over needing to rewrite a document 4 times before I was told it could be used towards the whole employment situation. So, when I felt really grumpy, I'd come back and work more on making a story here to calm down.

I suppose any adult could have erupted in anger. In your case, maybe it was a sort of comforting mechanism. I hope your son was away at that time.

I forget if Peep was with me during this time. It's hard to hide things from him as, like his mom, he is very observant and, unfortunately, I have more 'tells' than I'd like to have. It's easy to say that I am truly the worst liar you'll ever meet.

I do prefer my son to not be around when I'm feeling all 'Kiren'. And, now that I do think on this, COVID-19 was not shutting things down when I wrote this. So my son was not exposed to anything more than the post moment 'after shocks' of my frustration.

I thought dragons were virtually heatproof. Logically, Spike should never feel hot in the weather. Or does his heat resistance turn up only when it really needs to? Of course, in a cartoon, humor may be put above logic.

When I could still physically see, I remember episodes where Spike sweat like a human. The notable moment being in "Owl's Well That Ends Well".

After he suckles a jewel to soothe himself after running away, a green dragon appears that causes an increase in temperature that brings the drake to sweat.

Perhaps, having been hatched by magic, Spike retains some dragon invulnverability to heat while gaining the ability to 'sweat' to regulate temperature?

It would make sense that Spike could have unique body functions as, last I knew, no dragons tend to live in a place that isn't extremely hot. Spike, on the other hoof, uses a pillow and blanket to remain warm. He likes long, hot, bubble baths and opportunities to 'sun himself'. However he doesn't require these. So, perhaps, pony 'warm blood' mixed with his dragon 'cold blood' to make it possible to live equally in extreme heat and non-extreme cold?

It's definitely something to think on.
