One quick photo I took before I tidied up those cables (why cant they make 3 inch SATA cables??) with twist ties. The case didn't come with a front fan so I swiped one out of my old PC for now.
Cooler Master Glite Case
Gigabyte MA758GMT-UD2H
2 gigs of Super Talent DDR3 1333 memory
Athlon II X4 630 QuadCore (for $109! I'm so glad the dealer persuaded me to buy this CPU instead of paying $60 more for an Phenom)
Western Digital 500 Gig Black (32mb Cache!) - Paid $69 for OEM version on Newegg last month
Western Digital 1000 Gig Black - About $79 at BestBuy last month
Lite-On SATA DVD-DL drive
Cooler Master Case and 500w Power Supply
Windows XP Home System Pack 3
Compared to the old hot 3000XP+ (which ran about 2.16 mhz) the Athlon II stays cool. And I wont miss the hum of 5 fans in my old Antec tower case. The on-board video works fine for now since I'm not a big game player. I can play the 1080p videos on YouTube and 1920 x 1080 Mp4 video without it puking frames. That was a big surprise since most on-board video sucks.
Right now I'm happy with it.. TurboTax is gonna scream on this baby!

Maxtor, small detail though, Maxtor disks are made by Seagate, if you have the choice between Seagate or WD, WD is better...
(odd world ain't it?)
but, Maxtor is more expensive then WD, and the biggest problem you can have with a WD is something not every one has.
mainly there, usually, quite noisy.
and if you get 7 busines, Pro or Ultimate, you can download Windows XP mode, which will run all XP programs.
but it's not that good for audio/video editing.
but the CPU is a good one, I have the X2 (dual-core) version of the same one.

All hard drive manufacturers are like car companies - they will make a lemon now and then. If another 1TB Caviar Black goes on sale I might pick it up and use it as a backup drive.
I've had problems with the old IDE Maxtor drives in the past. They'd work for about 2-3 years and then start freezing up. And since Seagate bought them, the only Maxtor I can find here in East Texas are their external USB drives.

also, for backups, you may want to use a external drive, make a backup, and disconnect it until you need up update your backup.
if a drive is connected internally and the computer get's damaged from a power related error, you can also say goodbye to your backup.
and any drive connected to a computer will run, so it will wear.

I have 3 WD hard drives one IDE and 2 SATA i have had them for close to 3 years now and i havent had a problem to date i dont understand ppl and their problem with WD Drives to date i have never had a WD hard drive crash on my ...on the other hand i have had Maxtor drives crash my last one the bearing froze up on it and it came to a grinding halt
I don't understand why ppl here have problems with Maxtor.....
I only have disks from three brands:
Maxtor, HP and Hitachi. and like this:
Maxtor: primary HDD in all computers, DATA drive if applicatable.
HP: Servers primary and DATA disks (SCSI/SCA @ 15.000RPM)
Hitachi: TravelStar series, so for my laptop.

wel, not all of them fail, but there are some series that will.
and like I said above, the biggest problem is that they are a bit noisy, and Maxtor disk's usually work faster since they have higher RPM,
(still, the HP disks in my server will beat most Maxtor disks..., they work at 15.000RPM.)

oh for the ram card you want to place it on the slot right next to the one its in... the one you placed in now is the "support" card slot for other equipment... the white slot there is the high speed slot for SINGLE card ram only... you will notice a much faster preference that way....
yeah but the 2 slots closest to the CPU are the Duel lenthency slots for enhanced performance... you need an absolute identical secondary card to work it correctly or your virtual memory will use the Graphics card on your mother board instead... this is why dell's are not so good cause they wana keep it very cheap...
i know these thing cause i worked for IBM and Dell on the assembly line...
in my experience the third slot from the CPU is the best location cause this is were your Motherboard seeks the ram first...
