I was very pleased with the Trevenant piece I made last evening, so I drew Phantump as well. With this, I went for a more anthro style, giving my Pokemon a smaller head & more humanoid torso.
The story behind Kodama-San's broken branch is that she was scarred during a battle with Team Skull. After she evolved, she was unfortunate enough to suffer another injury that broke away her right branch antler in a different battle. (see related submission) I think scars are fun to add to a character's design because it makes them unique and interesting to the viewer.
