Yes, it's that wobbly werewolf that puts up with Damian Belmont's blunders, Nightclaw! I had a little freetime and doodled this at work. I got to thinking about armor, and realized that for being prepared to storm Castlevania, Nightclaw was pretty ill-dressed. Well, I'll do nothing at all to restore clothedness, but at least she should get some armor. Here are the specs:
{Nightclaw is a mobility character; I can't very well bog her down in platemail. So I thought, light plating and leather would work best. Her vest is just a glorified leather brazierre, heavy padding on the front and back to protect her generally there. She of course has knee and elbowpads (Because being safe is cool© *thumbsup, 90's guitar wail*), which are metal on the outside, but are filled with cloth and rubber to lessen the impact.
Her shin, thigh, upper and forearm guards are leather strips with metal plating on them. These are commonly attacked areas, and make it easy to block said attacks with this. They're supported by nylon string laced to opposting strips of leather, which lack the metal plating.
finally, she actually took a couple of metal plates and hid them in her back pockets. Just in case she runs into Smakzaur, Demon Lord of Naughty Spankings.
... What?? I'm talking serious demonology, guys.}
Castlevania belongs to Konami.
Nightclaw Starkraven belongs to me.
[Edit: I forgot to draw in the rest of her hair. Bah.]

Hhmmmm, the problem with padded armor is that although it lessens the impacts you take... it's going to lessen the impacts you dish out, too.
Of course, that's only a problem if you're using the armored areas as striking surfaces... and unless she uses Muay Thai, that shouldn't be the case.
P.S. Why do werewolves always have sharp claws? Canine claws are meant for traction and realistically would be too blunt to make effective weapons.

I agree. As a hand-to-hand artist, I would never put any armor on myself unless my only intent was to run and never strike a blow.
As for the sharp claws, there's a great number of possible reasons.
1. 'Were' seems to imply more than hybridization- rather, a vicious type of mutation that puts emphasis on destruction. At least, it's easy to accept that if you go by the curse theory rather than anything else.
2. Since a canine's most basic defense is its jaw, raising the head to the top of a biped body would render that defense much weaker- mostly because you've then got a structurally weaker 90 degree angle on the pull of the jaw versus the angle of the spine. So I'm thinking sharp claws come along with the more useable arms and opposeable thumbs in order to compensate.
3. I suppose the 'foot' claws could be more blunt, but it would be a weird contrast.
Still, it's an interesting question. I'm probably guessing it's true that way generally just because most people equate 'wild animal' with 'vicious killer.'

Well, in regards to point two it might be hard to bite at things like little bunny rabbits and squirrels, but a werewolf's typical pray stands upright, so they don't really have to bend that far to take a bite out of someone's face. Plus, all werewolves might not have as good of posture as she does. ;)
I'm telling you, if a ninja can hit it with a shuriken, it ain't "mobile".
O_O I watched ninja take down an alien, it was creepy, like wild dogs eating a lion on the savannah, cruel calculation with graceful acrobatics and smokebombs.
It's the reason God invented grenades and thermal sensors.

I can say that she would make an excellent companion for taking on Dracula and his onslaught of minions.
I'd just have to make sure I'd be the one leading the way, lest I get distracted by that amazing arse or bouncing boobies. In all seriousness though, I really like her armor, and the knives!
