Ashcroft Investigations: Summoned
Just a small little side story showcasing one of Calex's letter known abilities... In fact, not even he knows about it.
Calex may only be half faerie, but he's still a faerie, and as a result those who know his name can enter a contract with him. Neither Odin or Calex know it, but their bond of friendship has created such a contract, and thus, Odin has the power to summon Calex whenever he is in danger. But... Calex being only half fey lacks the ability to teleport... So he has to take a less direct route to his destination. Guided by an unknown instinct, he follows a call he doesn't understand, and in the end, he always reaches his destination and always makes it just in time. There is no hiding place, no timeline, not alternate universe that is too far. Calex will always find his way there.
Also, there's probably a reason most people in the Ashcroft verse use gimmicky TF weapons that mostly just temporarily disable or slow down Odin and Calex. The second an enemy threatens to actually hurt Odin for real, Calex loses all sense of fun and mischief, and simply goes into end the problem mode. It turns out everyone fighting with shrink rays and transformation bombs was just a survival tactic..
