I imagine them being some kind of Cheshire creature? Probably shows up whenever they please and gives advice of questionable quality and/or morality. The pink slit things aren't usually visible but when exposed (as shown) they can expel a gas that causes feelings of intense ecstasy/euphoria like a really strong drug hit. Prolonged exposure can lead to permanent brain damage, addiction or death

They're popular at raves I'm sure
