i looked at this completely wrong to start with, and thought he was strangling it.

Heh yeah the way my son drew it, it's easy to mistake it that way. I had to change his thumb when I inked it, because it looked like he had his paw wrapped around the cat's neck.

yes that would definately look like he was choking it. good idea to alter it. by the way, i think the expression in this comic are done well.
