It's Hickory (Chikorita) and Willow (Totodile) from Starting in the Lab - Johto. They're just chilling in the lab, being all cute and stuff together. From the looks of it, they just finished browsing some "research" pictures that Professor Elm had scattered all over. :p
I find it really funny that the cutest couples from either of the current Starting in the Lab stories are the non-straight ones. Or at least in my opinion they are. I know that I love me some girly love between these two, at least, just because they're so cute and also, as evident by the end of the story, really good friends.

There's just something really attractive about a really cute girl pining for another really cute girl as if the first is a boy. I hope Hickory can treat Willow like the lovely submissive romanced gem of a girl she always fantasized herself as. ^^ I love how girly Willow was and she liked bows and the whole role of girl... I'm really attracted to girly girlness in sapient non-human characters. XD I guess I'm just a weirdo and that's all I'll ever be. Haha.
Aww, haha, yeah X3 I agree, there is a special sort of charm behind those sorts of characters. Certainly quite appealing. I tend to fancy the tomboyish females (like Hickory or Maple) just because, well, I don't know exactly, just seems like another sort of swap from what nature would typically suggest, but more "girly girl" types are also downright adorable. X3
Well, I actually like that best too... the reversed roles with the girl dominant and in charge. But for some reason I think it's cute when that personality comes from a girl that looks like your ordinary GIRLY girl, liking bows and giggling and being sickly sweet and feminine at the same time. I guess it would be a half swap, which makes it even more unique... too bad there aren't many like that. XD
