This artwork near the Old Opera in the Taunusanlage in Frankfurt always somehow puzzled and scared me.
Its title, "Aufforderung" (Invitation, can also mean challenge) is kinda ominous.
My theory is that this gazebo is in fact a cage, that is keeping whatever eldrich horror harlequin Shaggy there really is, trapped in some sort of containment field. Preventing him from unleashing his raw, chaotic, possibly sexual, powers upon an unsuspecting universe.
If you dare to enter his gazebo, you and your entire bloodline might get obliterated from existence, or so I heard...
